Steam copies and Shift+Tab
Steam still launches Rockstar’s executable. The modest menu attaches to the game, not to the Steam client. Shift+Tab is the usual fight.
In Steam, open GTA 5 properties and disable the Steam overlay if the overlay tree flickers or never appears. Keep the game in borderless. Launch Story Mode, then run Kiddions elevated from a user folder — not from steamapps, not from the ZIP preview.
Family View and launch options that force exclusive fullscreen will hide the overlay. See display mode.
