System requirements
The supported target is 64-bit desktop Windows. If the overlay never appears, check this table before you redownload the ZIP.
| Item | Supported | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 22H2, Windows 11 | 64-bit desktop only |
| Architecture | x64 | No x86 SKU, no ARM64 SKU |
| Game | Grand Theft Auto V PC | Story Mode session |
| Runtime | Visual C++ x64 | Missing runtime looks like a dead shortcut |
| Display | Borderless / windowed | Exclusive fullscreen hides the tree |
| Disk | User-profile folder | Avoid Program Files for the extract |
Windows versions
Windows 10 22H2 and current Windows 11 are both documented. Home, Pro, and Education desktop SKUs are in scope. Windows on ARM, Sandbox-only VMs without GPU passthrough, and 32-bit leftovers are not. Dedicated pages: Windows 10 and Windows 11.
GPU overlay stacks
GeForce Experience, AMD overlay, Discord overlay, Afterburner, and ReShade can hide a small overlay tree more easily than a huge HUD. That is a display-mode problem, not a missing download. Turn competing overlays off on day one, then add them back one at a time. See borderless window.
Launchers
Rockstar Launcher, Steam, and Epic all boot the same GTA5.exe family. The overlay attaches to the game process, not to the storefront UI. Follow Rockstar, Steam, or Epic depending on where you bought the game.
