What the modest overlay actually is
Kiddions Mod Menu is not a replacement GTA 5 client and not a storefront launcher. You start the official Grand Theft Auto V executable, load Story Mode, and then attach the overlay to that running process. Once attached, a slim numpad tree sits on top of the session: vehicles, weather, wanted level, teleports, and local player flags. When the session closes, the overlay does not remain inside the game folder.
Two consequences follow. Timing matters — attaching before the story world has finished streaming is the usual reason the menu never appears. Scope matters — this documentation is written for Story Mode. Using any overlay, injector, or trainer in GTA Online can violate Rockstar terms and trip BattlEye. These pages will not coach public-lobby use.
Keyless on purpose
There is no ad-gated checkpoint chain, daily token, or Discord unlock. If a file asks you to grind link shorteners for a key, you left this channel.
A plain ZIP archive
The package ships as Kiddions_Modest_Menu_v1.01.zip. Extract it to a real folder before you launch. Opening binaries from Explorer’s ZIP preview invents errors that look like a bad download.
The setup order that actually attaches
Most support threads are skipped steps, not a broken archive. The rest of this site assumes the sequence below. The full install guide explains the failure each step prevents.
- Confirm 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 and a working GTA 5 PC copy. A missing Visual C++ runtime looks exactly like a corrupt download — the overlay simply never appears. See system requirements.
- Extract the archive to a folder under your user profile. Skip Program Files. Do not run Kiddions Mod Menu from inside the ZIP.
- Launch official Grand Theft Auto V and load Story Mode. Wait until you can move a protagonist. A loading plate is not a loaded session.
- Start the overlay as administrator, accept UAC, then attach once and wait for the watermark. Repeated clicks do not speed anything up.
